' THIS IS IT.'
Or is it? ...I hope...
If you haven't been living under a rock.
This is the day of reckoning.
Angels and Demons
Angels and Egomaniacs
Angels and Vengeful Vikings
It's Sunday morning and the Sun is shining. Writers tend to be up late at night and wake up early. Watching
reruns of 2009 WSOP No Limit Texas Hold 'Em. Phil Ivey, that Tiger Woods of
Poker, with the eyes that are always shifting. In a few days he will go for his 8TH bracelet at the final table of
nine on ESPN. All eyes on Phil Ivey.
what's so funny is those poker players hiding behind shades
it all boils down to a balance of skill and adose of luck, anyway.
WTF
The 40 y o Prodigal Son Returns Back Home to Lambeau today,
Wisconsin's SuperBowl Sunday.
This is the NFL showdown we have all been waiting for,
The 'angel' that transformed into a 'demon' in the eyes of many observers.
That upward spiral, that suddenly shifted into a downward vortex.
Forever Loved...that crazy ex girlfriend ...
P O'd at being dumped for a younger, more humble stud,
Haven't we all been in this position before,
Dumped for someone younger and hotter
It all depends on how you look at it anyway
It all circles back around again
rose or dandelion
wave or particle
love or fear
packer or viking
rave or rant
going green or money making capitalism
aaron rodgers or brett favre
angel or demon
now do you see the analogy here...
it's all a matter of perspection.
it's always been relative.
The Observer affecting the Observed.
OVERPAID Grown men playing a kids game.
Choose or take sides
My mom loves Brett, my younger sister loves Brett, my older brother loves Brett,
my older sister loves Brett, my pop loves Brett, and I love Brett...
who isn't guilty of worshipping this Idol of Lambeau?
Brett will have to finally LET GO of this GRUDGE...unless he doesn't. Yet sooner or later,
BF will LET GO.
I'm a Dallas Cowboy fan & Tony Romo fan anyway, btw
and they suck royally this year.
it's probably why me and G Dubya share the same birthday.
Honestly, I can not tell you if it was a good idea for number 4 to comeback.
Yet every man has his reasons intact.
I have never been much of a Packer fan, but watching Favre at his peak would
put even the most loyal Packer haters in a state of sheer ecstasy.
It's POETIC to witness a human being in ALIGNMENT with his PASSION.
So no matter what happens on Sunday Nov 1ST. I'll be cheering for number four.
If BF wins
BF loses.
If BF loses
Then it's a waste.
If A Rod loses.
Nothing is loss.
If ARod wins
Ted wins.
Nuff said. N Joy the game.
{BTW...Happy Birthday to my niece Nikita in ATL and my grandmother in MOBILE, SWEET HOME ALABAMA}

Nothing else ever did matter...or did IT???
Hmm...

"IDON'TLIKEYOUINTHATWAY."
In my mind i'm saying..."That's cold",
I'm listening to... Blanche DuBois stubbornly tell this to her nosy new suitor
Karl Malden
in the timeless classic,
A "Street Car Named Desire."
Steamy New Orleans. And you feel desire come clanging through, in rhythms,
in that hot -deep, dirty Southern-fried humid atmosphere.
I could have easily copy&pasted the synopsis of this gem,
but that would simply spoil my own lustful desire to write from within.
The movie version is a 1951 adaptation based on the writings of
Tennessee Williams.
You can not help but love an unusual name like "Tennessee"...
btw.....I love cruising through that beautiful, rolling hills
it puts you in a beautiful state of mind.
A man, by the same name who influenced a respectable movie.
Equally respectable actors, with equally respectable flaws.
I speak of those special actors,
...with respectable special noses.
{Mind if I segway into Karl here} ;)
Karl Maiden, embraced a rather unique nose.
excuse moi,
si vous plait.
I'm veering completely off course
of Karl's passing on by,
Because sometimes the best way to remember/honor those who have Blessed Us,
Is to honor them with the Joys & Flaws they carried with such grace
while "living" WITH the physical anatomy.
A Full Life Lived
...without a nose job.
{Remember. It only depends on the "Way" you "Look" at "Dying" anyway.}
I'm doing a complete 180.
All Deaths of Loved Ones should be about Celebrating,
that Life FULLY Lived.
So I guess I will...
Pause.
Right here. As we honor on the Fourth, those 'novas whom have passed
with a quick poem,
Let's focus on the "unique" nose of Karl Malden. Here goes...
"A Nose Knows."
"Only a nose knows, because it smells,
the Bigger the nose, the greater the tale,
A nose can be so damn NOSY,
It can be pointy, or broad, but how can a nose,
be a button?-at all.
Indeed. I foolishly admit,
I once had my nose broken in a brawl,
Yet a broken nose, continually does a nose's job,
Yet a nose broken on purpose, it's quite perplexing,
Never had it fall off ither, like a 'Sphinx', i'm guessing
Riddle me this,
That most famous "Un-SEEN" NOSE in Egypt,
Who knocked the stubborn nose off that stubborn Ol' Leo?
You know, the famous Lion, with the human head.
In the famed town of Giza, near the tombs of the dead.
The riddle of the Sphinx, says it would stink,
for someone to deliberately, foolishly chop off their noses,
Even Dandelions love noses, like roses, I supposes."
- Sears Barnett
So as you.......... "C",
I Can always appreciate good "Character", In a Character aCtor.
Especially good Characters attached with unique physical Characteristics.
I tend to be in awe of anyone who Could Care less about Compromising their looks to become infamous.
On a Clear day, Barbara Streisand understood this with Clarity.
That "Flawless straight nose" of Nicole Kidman, wife of country singer Keith Urban,
took it a step
"down"
further
..........from aesthetic beauty,
wearing that big prosthetic NOSE in the film,
'The Hours.'
Big noses brings big Oscars. Ask the god Hoffman.
See what I mean. Dustin Hoffman knows noses.
All nose jokes aside,
Father Barry's stubborness in the masterpiece "On the Waterfront"
brought unique character to that role, as well as emphasizing the true character of the "Character Actor." A unique gift given to a role that your average "Joe" could relate to.
Now I'm probably rubbing a few of my readers to rantings by raving about noses,
But remember this, you're not exactly "WRITING"
if you're not making someone snub their nose up at you,
on occasion.
I have gone on the record, having always stated, I'd rather be smart than good-looking,
anyway.
..at least in this lifetime.
The last time I saw the movie 'a Streetcar named Desire'.... all I remember is Karl Malden, and his unusual nose, sniffing behind Vivien Leigh like "PePe LePeu."
That unique bulbous nose. Like my broad nose.
That part that breathes in eternal life energy.
I would know this quite literally.
Often ignored, but wholly adored.
A protruding facial monument, that I learned to embrace again.
It's obviously the first thing you notice on people when you meet them.
Now isn't it? Big noses have often been connected with Pinocchio and big fibbers.
So let us all dispose of these goofy old myths
...about Swine, Noses, & Dandy Perennials.
Anyone can respect a simple nose, but a nosey person gets on anyone's nerves,
a nose picker, is quite gross, and a runny nose....like my spiritual anchor buddy says,
" --Keep a handkerchef
by your side at all times."
Like everything in Life, I try not to take mine too seriously, so please,
love your noses
and if you sneeze, I will always
Bless You.
Sometimes even twice.
Bless U.
Dedicated To Karl Maiden,
2 all unique noses everywhere,
we thank U.

The Case of the Artful Dodger.
1936 to 2009
73 y o ....a Full beautiful Life Lived.
David Carradine passed on to New Life Experiences & Opportunities.
Here's a link to one Carradine website:
http://david-carradine.com/bio.html
Talk about a Balanced Human Being. Multi-Talented.
Like many of you, I grew up watching the Beloved one Wander & Transform those
around him, with gentle strength, a Bendable Palm in the Wind.
Dodging adversaries with swift counter-attacks.
The role of Kwai Chang Caine was originally intended for Bruce Lee, however due
to the Rigidity of the Powers that BE, in Hollywood at the time, [early '70s], there was an epidemic fear
that an Asian man, in a lead role, would not draw the ratings of a predominantly white
American audience.
Hence, David Carradine was given the lead role, and he honored it gracefully.
I remember the smoothness in the way D. C. would dismantle his sudden opposition, often
utilizing a style of Defense & Dodge tactics. Striking opponents with swift defensive
compassion & mercy. To see him move with such Artistic flexibility, as well as focus,
amazed me as a kid. A soul that surrenders, and bends with flexibility.
There is an Artistic Beauty that's apparent in Jeet Kune Do.
Mimicking the Fluidity of the movements of Asian Calligraphy.
An expression of writing I became familiar with in High School Art Class.
Learning the craft of jewelry making, how heat molds the metal, the
way cold clay felt as you applied water to it, spinning the clay to create my first vase.
Heating it in the oven. The glaze.
The poetic hand movements of East Asian Calligraphy, and the way the
it synchronically parallels the artful dance of martial arts.
Ever try to write with a paint brush? You don't.
You feel the "characters" which are a language of the soul. The rhythm & the way you hold the paint brush.
However, I have come to appreciate the Logic of the English language and alphabet.
The Intuitive- slant of cursive penmanship. Look back at the careful penmanship of
our English ForeFathers, Thomas Jefferson & Ben Franklin, or Abraham Lincoln's
prose, in the Bixby Letter, or even some of your personal acquaintences who have
rather nice penmanship. Yet the expressions of the Eastern languages on paper
mulberry, hemp canvases and parchments fascinate me. Writing styles and
techniques used often in China, Japan, Korea, & Vietnam.
The Abyss & Deep Blackness of the inks used, all these memories have resurfaced,
the sensitive pressure on the hairs of the brush, appear quite vivid to me. Water
acting as the Eraser. Even in Junior High School, I loved the trips we used to take
outside in the time of summer, sitting in a circle, free sketching trees, homes, streets, and each other.
At Milwaukee Tech, I had an art class, one of my favorite study hours.
At the tone of the bell, students would proceed to the next hour class.
I liked most of my classes, but when the Bell Tolled for Art Class.
I stepped into another dimension....
IMAGINATION.
Free roaming imagination. This was something I MASTERED as a little kid.
Here we explored the delicate craft of jewlrey making, molding of clay, and
calligraphy, free style sketching, charcoals, oil paints...etc.
..... and the greatest artform ever created,
...the masterpiece known as the HUMAN PHYSICALITY. The Human Body.
It is here that I am in a Divine Place. Like Writing. Heaven on earth
....but I humbly compose myself daily.
This is the same teacher, who literally begged me on bended knee to take a career in
Commercial Arts. Commercial mainstream artistry. Creating the advertisements that fight for your attention in the grocery store aisle or on television commercials.
Anyways, I recall the entire class of students were required to purchase a sketch
book. We added a new entry input at the end of each week. Remember, I was a painfully shy Black Kid
in an predominantly white High School. One odd day, my teacher surprises me, by
doing something out of the ordinary.
In a moment of frustration from seeing another students sketch book compilation,
my male art teacher grabs my sketch book in holds it UP with both hands in front of
the entire class.
And Triumphantly...
Defiantly!.....Proclaiming....
"Now THIS is how a Sketch Book she BE!"
Black man turning Red again, Embarrassingly SWEET.
Art teacher spontaneity again....
another day he pulls me by the arm out of my chair, walks me to the CENTER of the
entire class, and hoists me on a desk, unto a chair.....
........Fox6Fan Becomes the ART FORM.
Ecstasy.
I remain still while the other classmates DRAW ME.
The Roads & Pathways of Life often take many sudden turns. Occasionally veering
completely off track.
I suppose that dream lives on in an Alternate Reality.
These pleasant thoughts often bring me comfort & joy.

....all experiences remain quite valid. Branching off into eternity.
Take for instance, a television news Anchor, who longs to have been a priest, a left-handed
professional baseball pitcher, or politician/actor, or Tour de France bicyclist...etc.
"The passionate residue remains with the spirit or soul, as hobbies or recreational experiences."
I do not even draw anymore. Nor do I miss it. Or care to.
HOWEVER, I continue to appreciate any fine piece of art, a tree, a bird, a star even.
Whether it's a chalice of red wine or Angelina Jolie, a good book on a shelf
or even the ironic COMPLEX simplicity that IS life itself.
might I add......I would have made a Superb Art Mentor in High School. Isn't that a
darn shame.... isn't it?
Hmm...
Oh well, ya' know what Erykah Badu says,

I remember my sweet, yet deceptively tough 67 y o mom stopping by my apartment complex to pick up a gift or bring a gift to me. I suppose it was the latter, or former.lol
Listen. Before she left, she stunned me with these words:
"Thank-You son, for CHOOSING me to be your mom."
She left me literally speechless. What she said literally validates everything an adult child could ever feel for, or want to hear from a parent. I literally heard the comforting VOICE OF GODDESS in communion with her voice, in ONE stillful moment, i felt the compassionate wisdom of every painful to joyful experience ever shared between us...
